Perfect flat for Granny!

A vibrant, modern kitchen complemented by a classy, open bathroom has proven the exciting focal point of a newbuild flat developed for Wainuiomata grandmother, Diana.

Seeking to downsize and relocate next to her extended family, Diana is delighted with the Atmoss colour-schemed design, which features generous storage space and future-proofed layout.

“There’s a place for everything and everything’s right where I need it to be – and at an easy height for me,” says Diana.

“The layout is also very ergonomic, with sliding doors and spacing to fit a future wheelchair if ever needed.”

Rather than replicate any previous kitchen layout, Diana set about finding a bespoke solution for her current needs and smaller footprint with designer Liam Scott.

“We said what we were thinking and he made it work – he was just so helpful and made us feel confident about what we were doing.

“Coming into the showroom was also valuable in the process as we’d see new things. For example, after spotting the Blum Legrabox pantry I said ‘that's the one I want’, so we promptly got Liam to change the plans again.”

With her large Archant Robiq stainless steel sink (which doubles as a tub) just one of many highlights – “my neighbour is jealous!” – Diana praises the entire development involving Versatile Wellington, site builder and Mastercraft Kitchens Wellington team.

“They were all very switched on and it all went well, very smoothly, with any issues promptly resolved. I’ve now got a nice bit of modern life.”
